Paula K. Lapinski, MD
Dr. Lapinski is a board certified cosmetic dermatologist in Naperville and Joliet.
Dr. Paula Lapinski was born and raised in Lemont, Illinois. She earned her degree in Pre-Professional studies at The University of Notre Dame, graduating with Honors as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to attend Northwestern University School of Medicine.
After completing her internship at Evanston-Northwestern Hospital, she chose to move to Texas to complete her residency in Dermatology at The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, one of the premier programs in the country. After graduation, Dr. Lapinski was board certified by The American Board of Dermatology.
She entered private practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for one year while she co-directed the Pigmented Lesion Clinic at The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, a specialized center for patients with melanoma, atypical nevi, and other cutaneous malignancies.
Dr. Lapinski's interest in patients with skin cancer led her to complete an additional year of training at The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in the area of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a specialized method of skin cancer excision and pathologic examination. During her tenure in Dallas she lectured at local and national meetings as a Clinical Instructor in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Lapinski practiced Dermatology and Mohs Surgery for another year in private practice in Texas before deciding to move back home to Illinois.
Dr. Lapinski uses her extensive training and expertise to practice general and Cosmetic Dermatology, as well as Mohs Surgery.
