During your initial consultations with Dr. Rios, you and he will discuss your goals for the procedure. The amount of lift you're looking for will contribute to the type of incision Dr. Rios will use. If you're looking for a great deal of lift, he will likely choose an incision that runs vertically from the nipple toward the breast fold. Dr. Rios will prescribe pain medication, though many of his patients find they require only over-the-counter remedies such as ibuprofen. If your work involves light activity, you can plan to return to it in several days. You will want to wait to engage in more strenuous activities for about a month.
Most women have no trouble breastfeeding after a breast lift. Some patients who combine breast reduction with a breast lift may experience difficulties due to a loss of breast tissue.
You can expect to be very pleased with your new look, but you should be aware that the processes that caused your breasts to sag will continue. Aging and gravity may have you thinking about another breast lift as the years pass.
