Chemical Peels and Naperville

The Illinois climate is not kind to faces. No matter how protective you may be, the blazing sun of the summer months and the cold, dry days of winter leave their marks along with the passing years. If you want to restore a more youthful, healthy look to your face, today there are many approaches to choose from. Chemical peels may be something you should consider.

Chemical peels are not as scary as they may sound. When performed by a trained professional, the procedures are very safe. They can deliver some of the most dramatic improvement possible to aged, scarred and unevenly-pigmented skin. Why not schedule an appointment with Dr. Lapinski today to find out about the possibilities?

Depending on the condition of your facial skin and the amount of rejuvenation you're looking for, Dr. Lapinski will recommend a light, medium or deep peel using the appropriate chemical solution. Joanne Jager, a licensed aesthetician, typically performs the superficial peels. These peels use alpha and beta hydroxyl acids, such as glycolic acid and salicylic acid respectively.

Alpha Hydroxy peels are recommended as an anti aging treatment that aids in diminishing fine lines, sun damage, hyper-pigmentation and damage caused by free radicals. There is a slight stinging sensation that alters the skin's PH and allows for the natural exfoliation to begin. The total exfoliation takes approximately 5-7days. There is no down time required. Beta-Hydroxy peels offer a superficial peel that stimulates reproduction of new cell growth and can quickly achieve substantial improvement in the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and uneven pigmentation while helping to control excessive oils and acne breakouts. This peel is a quick non invasive procedure that requires no down time and can easily be done as a lunch time treatment.

These superficial peels require just a short office visit, usually about 15 minutes. After the procedure, you'll be back to your normal activities immediately. Light treatments are often repeated for best effect.

The medium to deep chemical peels are performed by Dr Lapinski, a board certified dermatologist. Medium to deep peels can involve a one- to two-hour appointment. The chemical solution may sting a bit, and you'll need to reserve a few days to stay home while your skin heals. If you elect to have a medium to deep peel, chances are you may need just one or two treatments.

You may be surprised how effective chemical peels can be in minimizing even deep facial wrinkles and other facial defects. Contact one of our convenient offices for an appointment:
