This 33 year old female patient came to our plastic surgery practice in Joliet, Illinois because she was interested in breast implants and wanted to learn more about breast augmentation. When she came for her first consultation, she was wearing an A cup bra. She had been wearing a D cup while she was pregnant and wanted to regain the fullness she lost after her baby was born.

Her preoperative photo shows changes in breast appearance that women commonly experience after pregnancy. There is loss of volume in the upper portion of the breasts and her nipples have begun to sag. I took various measurements of the patient's body during our initial consultation and, based on her anatomy, I recommended subpectoral placement of the implants to produce the most natural, flattering results. Subpectoral placement – positioning the implant under the chest muscles – is often preferable for women who have very little natural breast tissue because it reduces the possibility of seeing or feeling the implant.

This patient underwent a breast enlargement near Naperville, Illinois using 425 cc silicone gel implants for both breasts. As the before and after pictures show, breast augmentation helped her get shapelier, more youthful breasts which created a more attractive overall profile. Scarring was minimal and the procedure was performed on an outpatient basis, which allowed her to get back to most of her usual activities within a few days.
