This 32 year old woman from Sugar Grove, Illinois was in excellent shape but was unhappy with breasts she felt did not do a good job of complimenting the rest of her figure. When I reviewed her case during her private Joliet breast surgery consultation, I noted that she had very good skin tone and breast symmetry.

As I do with all my plastic surgery patients, I spent time with her during the consultation reviewing her medical history and discussing exactly what she wanted to achieve through cosmetic surgery. I provide every one of my patients a second consultation before surgery to review information discussed during the first consultation and answer any additional questions. This patient took the time to carefully consider her options and make an informed choice about her breast enlargement goals.

She was encouraged to learn about the benefits of the newest generation of silicone gel breast implants, which became available for the majority of breast augmentation surgeries in 2006. This implant type has a strong safety record and is perhaps one of the most widely studied medical devices ever produced. She chose 450 cc Natrelle™ silicone implants, which I placed below the pectoral muscle for increased coverage and decreased risk of capsular contracture, a complication that results in excessive scar tissue formation around an implant.

She is very happy with the results of her plastic surgery in Joliet. Like most of my patients, she recovered quickly. In fact, most patients are able to go out the night of surgery, and most are back to everyday activity in 1 to 2 days.
