This 20 year old woman came to my Naperville area cosmetic surgery practice wanting to increase the size of her breasts. She was an A cup and wanted to be a D. After a careful review of her case during her private consultation, I recommended breast augmentation using saline implants.

At my practice, both saline and silicone gel implants are available. Increasingly, women are choosing silicone gel implants, which have an excellent safety track record and are generally seen as both feeling and looking most like natural breast tissue. But as evidenced by this patient, saline implants continue to be a good choice for some women, and are the only option available for women under the age of 22. I am able to achieve satisfying results using either implant type.

During surgery, I placed high profile saline implants under the pectoral muscle to create an attractive amount of cleavage and a natural-looking breast contour. Because the patient had very good breast symmetry before surgery, I filled both implants to 410 cc. The measurement "cc" stands for "cubic centimeters" and is an indication of the volume of saline contained in each implant.
